The Rose...

(I took this beautiful photo)

Beauty comes in so many different shades. I admire flowers so much because they come in so many different shapes, colors, textures, sizes, styles, etc. and yet they are all beautiful in their very own way. Everything you go through adds to your bouquet of flowers crowned by your imperfections and experiences, both good and bad.

Flowers start from the ground. They grow from the dirt. They get stomped on, sometimes overlooked, experience droughts, rain, and yet the outcome is always beautiful. In the process or season of growth you may seem worthless, undervalued and unappreciated by people who can’t even begin to imagine the beauty you truly behold. However, there are people that actually realize a stone before it becomes a gem.

Why wasn’t I enough from “The Rose”

This beautiful flower has experienced rain, pain and then eventually sunshine.

She was beautiful and truly one of a kind. She carried herself in a way that made her remarkable. She possessed a beauty that went beyond the surface. She was a woman of substance. She was funny, and had the smile of an angel. Her personality like no other. She was perfect in the eyes of some and a headache in the eyes of others; a woman “worth it” nonetheless. Roses are one of the most famous and beloved of all flowers.  Her bright colors bleed the passion she possesses and symbolizes the vividness of a beating heart ready and willing to give love. She is wise and understands that she is not perfect. She has flaws that’s no mistake, but she is always willing to do whatever it takes to make sure the ones she care about remain happy. The rose stands out and is sometimes guarded by the walls she has built to keep out pain and they push through in the forms of thorns from the storms.

Beautiful rose, you are enough. You are more than enough. Don’t let others’ inability to capture the beauty you behold taint your image of yourself. Wear your crown and keep a smile. Let go of those who don’t see your worth. Be strong, have faith and stay patient. Your bouquet is beautiful.

Sincerely,

The rose that grew from the concrete
