The Scarred Butterfly
Butterflies have been seen as a symbol of resurrection. A symbol of transition. A symbol of growth.
It takes a special kind of person to actually embody their pain. To make something beautiful out of something ugly and unfortunate. To give love after they’ve been broken. Most people look at loving and caring as an actually weakness while many others use that as a staple for strength. Do you know how strong you have to be to remain positive, continue to love others and move forward after you’ve been hurt? So I guess how or the better question would be why would someone be willing to love after they’ve been hurt?
Well the beautiful thing about butterflies is that they are able to turn something hard, typically ugly and uncomfortable into something beautiful. During the hardships and heartache its hard to focus on the good that can and will come from these unfortunate situations. But let’s reflect for a moment. Have you ever just sat and wondered why you’re the person you are today? Everything wasn’t always all good and everything wasn’t all bad. Life is all about balance.
Understand no one is promised a perfect life. There is no scoreboard telling us how much pain we have endured in the past and what is to come in the future. Pain is unavoidable in any stage of life and with any type of relationship but so is growth. Growth and change will always come but how you embrace it is what shapes and mold you into the person you are.
Counteract everything bad in your life with something good and as simple as that sounds it is actually one of the hardest things for us to do. Sometimes it’s easier to just drown in our pain because we no longer have to FIGHT to move from it. Putting up a guard and compressing your pain isn’t strength. Embracing and enduring each and every emotion that comes with the pain is real strength.
